“The mountains are calling and I must go.” --John Muir Ending with my second favorite John Muir quote. It has been quite an adventure! |
What seemed to take forever was actually only 45 minutes.
We got to see the moonset and the sunrise. There were a lot of people
who had woken up to make to the summit to see the sunrise. It was
a really neat experience. It really will be a night we will never forget--
figured might as well end this epic trip with an epic night!
A quick video of the sunrise
One last picture before the hike down.
At this point, I remembered all the picutres I had wanted to take on the trail that I didn't.
Pictures of our tent in the distance...our shoes up on top of whitney. Oh well, too late now!
At least I got the shadow picture.
Beautiful morning!
Yikes...Jason's view from where he was standing!
Made it to Trail Crest
And the 100 switchbacks...I counted all of them, there were only 98 I think!
Does this mean we are getting close?
Heck no. I swear, these 10.3 miles were the worst.
Well beside Bear Ridge. It just went on FOREVER.
And Finally...we were there
Time for a burger and a beer! Well deserved!
Jason was booking us a room tonight in Las Vegas!
And last but not least...
Happy Anniversary to my parents!
48 years today...
